After a deep dive into the feminine over several seminars, it seems that the masculine is requesting its due. It’s showing-up anew in people’s dreams and lives asking for attention. What, many people are wondering, would it look like to experience an integrated masculine?
In this seminar, over 8 sessions, we’ll discuss The Masculine, or try to.
We’ll attempt to differentiate this from Men, Male, Masculinity, Manhood, and the Animus. We’ll attempt to to update the language within depth psychology to understand how The Masculine shows up regardless of one’s physical gender and also in dialogue with one’s physical gender.
This seminar will involve more explicit self-inquiry than previous seminars. While the reading and discussion always works on us, these sessions will include a bit more invitation to journal, look at one’s dreams, and one’s personal astrology.
Topics will include:
Biology
Gods
Mythology
Modernity
Mars
Saturn
Yang
Animus
In all cases, we’ll explore how these expressions of “The Masculine” are formed by patriarchal thinking and/or exist outside of it.
We’ll be asking: what does it mean to “integrate the Masculine”?
We’ve explored a great deal of the Masculine in its negative / toxic aspects. We’ve looked at what happens to the Masculine when it is not integrated, when alchemy is not made from its raw materials. We’ve looked at what happens when it goes rogue, disconnected from its balance with the Feminine. Our last seminar on Eichmann’s psychology and discussions of sociopathy and patriarchy have taken us into those rich and painful veins.
But this will be an exploration in the potential of the integrated Masculine, when it is not separate, not immature nor narcissistic, not wounded nor defended.
In our journey, we’ll trip and fall, and we’ll try again.
