I was so grateful last month to be able to attend the gathering online for (and with) Ukrainian Jungian analysts and interns caught up in the war. Two Jungian analysts in Ukraine spoke with incredible depth about their experiences as sudden refugees and how they’re drawing on Jung’s work in their daily lives. Then, New York analyst Ann Ulanov delivered an extraordinary paper on the topic of Ukraine, War, and Jung’s Red Book entitled, “Making the Unsayable Experiential”, in which she speaks quite a bit of Jung’s Salome. It was a truly special event.
It’s a gift to all of us that a recording of the full 2-hour gathering has been made available for viewing and that Ann’s paper is now also available to download.
While the group is not still accepting donations for Ukrainian Jungians (due to the complication of distribution at this time) they are directing people to the IAAP site which has links for ways to offer support at this time.
Our gathering/fundraiser is also now available to watch for free. I’m proud of the $5,200 that our community raised and distributed to two very worthy organizations supporting refugees and displaced peoples worldwide. Here are a couple of updates on the ongoing and tireless work of these groups in Ukraine, work that is engaging the crisis from two very different and two very crucial angles.
Love to all of you. Happy Solstice! Happy Summer! Hope to see you next Thursday for our June gathering with Carol Ferris around the New Moon in Cancer.
